8-port 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch with 4 PoE ports

Overview

TRENDnet's 8-port GREENnet Gigabit PoE+ Switch, model TPE-TG44g, reduces hardware and installation costs by using existing Ethernet cables to provide data and power. This unmanaged switch offers four Gigabit PoE+ ports and four Gigabit non-PoE ports. The IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard provides up to 30 watts of power per port to devices such as high-power wireless access points, Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) Internet cameras and VoIP phone systems.

Auto-sensing technology provides 30 watts to 802.3at PoE+ devices (up to 2 devices), 15 watts to 802.3af PoE devices (up to 4 devices) and data only to non-PoE devices. GREENnet technology reduces power costs by up to 75% when the switch is not in use. Boosts office efficiency and reduces network footprint with a total switching capacity of 16 Gbps. LED indicators display device status for efficient troubleshooting. This switch comes in a rugged metal enclosure and quickly adds PoE+, PoE and non-PoE devices to your network.

A good and cheap Gbits ethernet switch

Installed behind a box that supplies the living room (TV, C+, Free, and a TP-LINK EAP 245 POE access point)
Nothing to do with the CPL ! It runs perfectly without interruption on heavy films!

It admits up to two devices of 30 watts (or 4 of 15 watts), it is very interesting for its price.
It's a great tool for a lot of people, and it's very easy to use. I'm very happy with it.

    A good Switch

    Contents of the box :
    - A small switch with 8 RJ45 connectors on the back.
    - An external power supply of almost the same size.
    - A power cable with C13 plug.
    - A one-page installation diagram.

This switch does not heat up much. It is fanless and therefore does not make any noise.

As it can handle up to two 30 watt devices (or four 15 watt devices), it is very interesting for its price.
