The D-Link DES-105 switch's 10/100 auto-detect Ethernet ports have 2 distinct coloured LEDs to quickly identify connection status. It supports MDI/MDIX auto-sensing allowing each port to be connected to a server, hub, router or switch using a straight-through or crossover cable. The switch supports IEEE 802.1p QoS, prioritising data, especially streaming, VoIP and online gaming.
Think Green
D-Link Green Technology saves energy and reduces heat generation, extending the life of the product without sacrificing performance. IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) detects when a connected computer is turned off or when there is no Ethernet traffic to power down the port. It also detects the length of cable used on each port, and adjusts its power to use only the energy needed for proper transmission.

The DGS-108 has been designed with the environment in mind. It is Energy Star Level V, CEC, and MEPS compliant, requiring the use of energy efficient power adapters. Plugged into the output of a PLC box to build a small local network of 2 to 3 machines in a room out of WiFi range.
Does the job, silently, with the option of securing it so it doesn't drag, get caught up in the Ethernet cables and fall out.
I've been using it for a month now to link CD players together and to stream music.
I'm a little short of experience but I haven't had any problems so far.
It's quite compact which makes it easy to hide.
The design is sober and elegant, I recommend it.
