D-Link DAP-1360X2 - Set of 2 wireless access points 300 Mbps Wi-Fi n Open source Linux

Overview

The D-Link DAP-1360 is a wireless access point that complies with the IEEE 802.11n standard. By connecting the DAP-1360 to a broadband router, you will be able to share your wireless broadband Internet access and create a secure wireless network to share photos, files, music, video, printers and storage devices.

Linux platform
Using the Realtek RTL8186 chipset, the DAP-1360 can be upgraded with custom firmware based on the supplied SDK. This allows programmers to make full use of the 2MB Flash memory and 16MB SDRAM to include advanced features of their choice.

Wireless Data Protection
The DAP-1360 offers enhanced security for protecting your wireless network and data. In addition, it provides MAC address filtering and SSID broadcast disabling to prevent outsiders from accessing your home or business network.
With Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), you can configure your wireless security system at the touch of a button. There's no need to memorise complex passwords and enter them repeatedly. The wireless network name (SSID) and encryption keys are automatically generated and broadcast to client devices.
Versatility of use in different applications
The DAP-1360 can be configured to function as an access point to serve as a central hub for wireless users, an access point client to connect to another access point, a workgroup bridge to connect two wireless workgroups, a workgroup bridge with an access point to serve as a wireless hub and bridge at the same time, and a repeater to extend wireless coverage to all "dead zones".
In addition, two WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) modes are supported, which could allow multiple households to share a single wireless Internet connection without an additional router: the WISP client router and the WISP repeater, to connect wired-only or wired/wireless computers respectively.
  • WLAN 802.11n standard, high speed and optimal coverage
  • 7 operating modes
  • Easy installation of the security system at the touch of a button (WPS)
  • Simplified configuration available in 18 languages with D-Link Click'n Connect Wizard

    On your way

For those looking for a wifi repeater, I wouldn't recommend this model, I bought it in 2016 and have left it in a corner ever since, I'm surprised to see it still on sale in 2023. At the time I thought I'd got a good deal with good value for money but I quickly came back to reality.
Weak wifi coverage (far inferior to my Orange router at the time)
I would advise you to invest in a higher-end wifi cpl or repeater as this one doesn't hold up.

    Satisfaction except

Excellent delivery service apart from the mess of the so-called public service of the Post Office. Thank you
