A great classic.
This is a very good drive and very easy to set up. Relatively quiet. It's a pity that the silk-screening is not more neat for a mediacenter PC front panel...

Replaces a LG of the same type which broke down (the drawer didn't open anymore, or randomly...). I love music on my old DVDs, Blue-Rays and CDs (that's all there is to it!), and having an optical drive is essential, even in 2021 and despite the dematerialization of everything. The proof is that even vinyls are coming back in force. I'm very pleased with the service and the quality of the product.
No worries about installing and using this DVD and Blu-ray player. It is not very noisy. To play the latter I have acquired a WindDVD 12 license, and so far no problems.
25GB in 11m 30s on poor quality BDs certified 6x recognized by the writer in 8x, perfect burning
Easy to install, recognized directly by Linux. Low noise (except the drawer drive when opening/closing) and fast, this drive is easy to use.
Used for backups (on Blu-ray), and playback. No problem, you can easily do something else while burning, the buffer never ran out.
this device works so well that I'm going to buy another one soon to replace the others that have reached the end of their life
Nothing to report.
Everything is as expected, whether it is the delivery time, the quality of the packaging or the performance of the device.
I bought this Asus burner after the death of my previous LG burner. The execrable quality of the LG after-sales service pushed me not to repeat my choice for this brand. I therefore turned to Asus, of which I already own several products with which I am satisfied. After a quick and easy installation, this player does the job expected of it, even on 50gb blu-ray. Nothing to complain about, we'll see over time.
Good blu-ray player, it recognises all cds immediately.
Good reading and writing speed even for blu-ray
It's my second one because if the lens breaks on the first one I have a spare
No worries with this player, I recommend it!
Good blu-ray player, it recognises all cds immediately (handy for installing windows on cd).
Good reading and writing speed.
No worries with this player, I recommend it!
I bought this drive/writer to be able to handle BDXL and play BD_4K movies.
With a computer running Windows 10Pro, Supermicro motherboard equipped with two XEON X5680 and 96GB of RAM; BD 4K are recognized and read. For burning, not tested due to lack of blank media (BDXL).
Playback speed: From 17MB/s to 34MB/s (speed changing between inside and outside the BD) tested by copying a UHD movie to the SSD.
This Drive/Burner is quiet, at least the little noise it makes is covered by the noise made by the fans in my tower.
This BluRay burner works very well. No burning errors, any disc recognized. A bit noisy, like all burners.
It also reads any media well, even old discs that have been burned for a long time.
It works like a charm, as described.
It is a great player and burner, and is very good at reading and writing. It reads all possible media (DVD, Blu-ray, CD, etc.) It meets all my expectations. It's easy to set up in my tower. It's very easy to install in my tower and I don't have any problems with the Windows recognition.
No problems with installation or with everyday use.
It does its job silently (although this is a subjective notion, it still sounds like a player but quite normal) and with the desired speed.
