My experience with this product
The blu-ray/dvd player function works very well. I've placed it in an external box and I've had no problems whatsoever.

Correct, meets advertised standards!
A first one bought a few years ago has been used intensively and perfectly.
product conforms to what was ordered and fulfils its function perfectly under windows 11
I don't know what it's worth over time, but it does its job and quite well.
It burns and plays Blu-ray without any problem.
I'm not sure if it's a good one or not, but it's a good one, and I'm not sure if it's a good one.
I have to use Power DVD if I want to be sure to play my Blu-Ray.
I bought this player with the intention of playing blurays, which it does perfectly. However, I was surprised to find that it plays CDs and DVDs very randomly, some pass, others don't, I found that other users had the same problem. Given the primary use of this player, I did not look for more than 15 minutes at the drivers, which are certainly the cause of this problem.
That's why I give it a score of 4/5. Quiet, fast. The ASUS quality is there.
I took this product to be able to burn Blu-ray for my movies, despite a rather slow burning time this product works perfectly
This Asus player is not free but it is indeed flawless. It's not necessarily the quietest on the market but that's mainly because of its speed. For those of you who aren't out 20-30 euros, this is the player to get to make sure you don't have any problems.
This player works perfectly, it plays both DVDs and Blu-rays and is a real treat. The only small problem for the player is the bright blue light that flashes during playback, it catches the eye in the dark.
ATTENTION: For the "Blu-ray news" you have to buy a software in addition to this player to play any Blu-ray. It's not like a CD or DVD (put it in the player and it works). Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. So if you buy a Blu-ray player in general, think that you will have to add roughly 100 euro for the purchase of a Blu-ray player software.... which is perfectly HONEST!!!
I already had the same burner on an old computer. I use the same one on another computer. I am very satisfied (easy to assemble, read and burn without incident. I recommend this equipment.
This ASUS player was very easy to install, everything comes with it. The sober design is a positive point. The drawer opens without too much noise but when playing a Blu-Ray it makes a lot of noise.
For an entry-level device, the price is expensive but it is still one of the cheapest.
Average playback speeds are around 35MB per second on my computer.
Summary:
+ Sober design
+ Decent speed
- Price
- Noise when playing
Part of the assembly of a tower ordered from ldlc. Nothing to say, great job, and well packed. Thank you to the whole ldlc team for your professional service. I love you guys.
Happy New Year to all.
I had a problem with the delivery of the parcel, I did not get my parcel on time because the parcel relay did not send a confirmation email that it had arrived.
I'm very happy with the service.
The playback works well (blu-ray or not) and without noise, I haven't tested the burning yet but I'm not worried about that.
It's a good performer and does what it's supposed to do, I recommend this quality product!
Bought it to play, copy and burn Blu-ray, I was shocked when I realised that there was no Blu-ray software included to run it. Naive as I am, all software is not free and blu-ray technology is specifically designed to force us to pay for it quite often! It's installed in my tower, it duplicates the dvd burner, it's like going back to the days when you needed a player coupled with a cd burner. It's a good brand, reliable and solid. 2 stars less for the lack of playback software.
Burns even old DVD-RWs that no longer fit in any other burner without any problems. Quite quiet.
Warning: this is an OEM product, so no software is included. Free software allows you to fully exploit it
(e.g.: ImgBurn for burning, VLC media player for DVD and BD playback - with libbluray).
I haven't tested the Blu-Ray burning yet but the optical drive works well.
The data rates are obviously limited by the mechanics, but you can't ask the moon from an optical drive :)
A BluRay burner that does what you want it to do, burn and play. I have tried burning CDs, DVDs and B-Rs with data, music and video, CDs and DVDs playable on my home DVD player (Not having a home B-R player yet, I have not tested B-Rs).
Some reviews of this device indicate a "light" quality of materials, I find that this one is well worth the other player-writers I have used so far; also the reported noise is non-existent.
The minus is the price, which is still high...
Very good burner it does what I ask it to do it goes very well with my configuration and I am very pleased with this great product delivered with burning software what more could you ask for :) fast and simple to set up!
Excellent product, just as the ASUS brand should be.
Easy installation in my beQuiet! Silent Base 800.
Instant installation on Windows 10.
So, obviously, Cyberlink PowerDVD or other mandatory to deliver blurays.
Only small flaw: always a murmur when playing the movie... can be annoying during the silent phases of a movie... Despite the soundproofing of my box. I thought that in 2016, the living room BR player could finally be replaced... Well no.
(note: only used for engraving, no reading)
After a couple of weeks the burner works well, no difficulties encountered.
The software is basic but does the job (backup essentially).
The drive is not particularly noisy and does not heat up more than average.
Not much to complain about with this burner. It works like a charm, is not noisy at all and as a bonus, there is 6 months of free Asus Web Storage in the box :D
It also burns DVDs at 16x... which was not the case with my old burner which was also 16x.
I bought this drive to help me recover damaged DVDs. It didn't do any better than my old LG. It doesn't seem any more sensitive than any other. Otherwise it's all pretty much the same, I don't feel like one brand stands out from another. It's good stuff otherwise.
installed in an ICY BOX IB-550StU3S
(USB3 and E-sata)
successful burning every time.
This solution is not bad because you don't need a burner all the time.
Bought it for backup on Blu-ray M-DISC ... 1000 year warranty (error rate of zero)
For small backups on DVD-RAM ... 100 years warranty and rewritable 100 000 times.
very good player writing as burning for the moment I can say only good I tested more than 50 DVD and frankly it deboite and no of rater see on time but if not ldlc always to the top fast delivery and very well packaged
Mounted in a nice quality configuration, Asus Z170 deluxe, Asus turbo 970GTX, I7 6700K, DDR4 32GB, corsair 1000i platinium power supply. Good product.
negative note: Noise level a bit high for a product of this category.
Finally a Blueray burner. Windows 7 pro. I started to archive my photos that I will probably never look at! But it will save me from sorting out 62,000 photos I got back unnamed from the 2T FREECOM NAS that failed for no apparent reason after 7 years of loyal service.
I bought it as a replacement for a DVD player/writer that had given up the ghost, and I am completely satisfied with it. Silent, reactive, fast in reading, I only have to test it in writing. On the other hand, on the software side, it should be noted as indicated by others that the software provided by ASUS does not allow to read BluRays protected in AACS or BD+. To do this, you'll have to perform a few tricky manoeuvres (which don't work with all BluRays) or invest in proprietary (and not necessarily very efficient) software. So don't buy it as a substitute for a home player!
I am really happy with this and it suits me perfectly. It's a very nice surprise for me and a good improvement to my system. Thank you! (2) I am really very happy with this, which suits me perfectly. I am copying another comment which for me is exactly the same thing
This engraver is of high quality.
The engraving is fast and without making waste.
The playback: impeccable.
CDs or computer DVDs, movies or music are played even when comparable drives fail.
Blu-rays? A marvel.
A complete success.

I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to do a clean job. I recommend it to anyone who wants to do a clean job.
and yes! it's an Asus! others also work very well.... this one is not noisy, it works very well, I was able to read a Blu-ray without any problem, I haven't tried to burn a Blu-ray yet.....
So good product, nothing to complain about!
