Edifier MR4.5: faithful, powerful, and perfectly controlled sound
Designed for music production, video editing, and demanding everyday listening, the Edifier MR4.5 deliver rich, natural, and especially accurate sound. Their bi-amplified architecture, combined with a two-way active crossover, ensures a smooth transition between the 4.5-inch mid-bass drivers and the 1-inch silk dome tweeters. Their extended, linear frequency response from 50 Hz to 40 kHz reproduces every detail with neutrality, while their 80 W RMS and their maximum sound pressure level of 98 dB at one meter make them equally at home in near-field and mid-field listening. The tweeter waveguide with a honeycomb surface improves high-frequency extension and clarity while widening the optimal listening area. Finally, the MDF enclosures help effectively reduce unwanted resonance and distortion.
Digital processing, acoustic adjustments, and connectivity
The MR4.5 combine full digital signal processing, active filtering, and DRC dynamic control to ensure precise and controlled sound reproduction. Their analog input stage and Class D amplifiers handle signals up to 24 bits/96 kHz. This quality extends to wireless listening thanks to Bluetooth 6.0 and the LDAC codec, capable of reaching 990 kbit/s at 24 bits/96 kHz with compatible devices running Android 8.0 or later. Multipoint connection also lets you pair two sources simultaneously. The balanced XLR and TRS inputs meet the needs of professional environments, while the RCA, AUX, and headphone jacks make it easy to integrate into home setups. To precisely adapt the sound to the room and speaker placement, rear controls adjust bass and treble by ±6 dB. The EDIFIER ConneX app adds low-cut, acoustic space, and desk reflection compensation settings, as well as two preset sound modes and customizable equalizers.
