Reading and writing speeds are impressive, allowing games and applications to be loaded ultra-fast. It gives a real boost to my configuration, with almost non-existent loading times. What's more, it's reliable and offers excellent value for money.
The Samsung SSD 990 EVO 2Tb is a real performance beast. With read speeds of up to 7400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6900 MB/s, you'll really notice the difference, whether you're gaming or video editing. It's a PCIe Gen 4.0 model, so it's super-fast, ideal for people who want speed and reliability in their data transfers.
When it comes to reliability, it's Samsung, so you can rest easy. Endurance is top-notch, and it's still a safe bet.
On the downside, it does tend to get a bit hot under full load, so if you're going to use it intensively, a little M.2 cooling might come in handy. And of course, it's a bit more expensive than PCIe 3.0 SSDs, but with this kind of performance, it's worth it.
In short, if you want a fast, reliable SSD that's going to hold up over the long term, the 990 EVO 2TB is a great choice.
Compared to my 2019 SSD, very good performance and storage capacity. Delivered quickly, and an LDLC shop even helped me out with the screw that wasn't included in the SSD box.
I've only used Samsung SSDs since their 840 series. I've used 840s, 860s, 870s, 960s and now 990s. They have always been top-notch, reliable and are controlled via Samsung MAGICIAN. It's a real plus to have just one brand to be able to centralise everything. What's more, Samsung allows you to manage over-provisioning to increase the already excellent lifespan, as well as Clone functions to migrate your old system to your new drive.
So I've got this drive as a dedicated drive for games, and it's clean.

If you've never tried the M.2 PCIe 4.0 type SSD plugged directly into the motherboard, then go ahead! The speed of the drive is phenomenal, and I already had a classic intrene SSD plugged in with a cable. It'll make you forget all about HDDs and other drives!
1 TB to start with is perfect, if you also install the operating system. Mind your eyes!
