Overview

A400: Incredible speeds and rock-solid reliability

Kingston' s 480GB A400 SSD dramatically improves the responsiveness of your current system with faster boot, load and transfer speeds than traditional hard drives. Powered by a next-generation controller with read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s, this SSD is ten times faster than a traditional hard drive and delivers higher performance, ultra-responsive multi-tasking and system-wide acceleration.

More reliable and durable than a hard drive, the A400 is built using only Flash components. With no moving parts, it is less prone to failure than a conventional hard drive. It's quieter and cooler, and more resistant to vibration and shock, making it ideal for laptops and other mobile computing systems.

Give your system a facelift

The A400 SSD is available in a variety of capacities starting at 120GB. So you'll have plenty of space for your files, applications, videos, photos and other documents. You can also replace your hard drive or a smaller SSD with one large enough to hold all your files.

This SSD is designed for use with desktop and laptop PCs, not in server environments.

  • Faster boots, loads and file transfers
  • More reliable and durable than a hard drive
  • Multiple capacities with enough space for applications or to replace a hard drive

    HDD replacement

Fitted as a replacement for an old HDD in an old ASUS desktop, and it's a life-changer! 20 seconds boot time compared with 5 minutes previously.

Faulty, it switched to a RAW file system. Unusable.

This isn't the first time I've handled an SSD for Windows 10. Barely two hours after I bought it, I installed it in place of a 128GB, disk manager, and then a strange message appeared. I created my volume, did a quick NTFS formatting, and then it refused and switched to normal formatting which jammed at 40% (from 39 to 40 in almost two minutes compared to less than 5 seconds for the others). This is a brand to avoid, as with USB sticks, it's the only brand that gave me problems. I'm lucky, bought today at 4.30pm, brought back tomorrow at 10am at the opening. Put a few euros more for a better quality model.
