The Crucial E100 M.2 PCIe NVMe 1 TB is an excellent storage solution. Smooth, fast and responsive. Very much appreciated.
Received well, a very fast NvMe SSD (4210 MB/s read, 2650 write).. super easy installation, and it worked straight away! I recommend it!
Having installed this crucial, I could not see it in my BIOS (Asus UX425EA machine from 2021). Having gone to the Haguenau store, after discussion with support, the technician, obviously very competent and very nice which does not spoil anything, started a Windows installation on it.
Back home, I note that it is still not present in the BIOS.
After discussion with the AI Claude who guided me in searching for the settings, assessment: "That is the root cause. VMD is enabled, the SSD is behind the VMD controller — that is why it does not appear as a standard disk in the BIOS but only in the Intel RST section."
After a few weeks of use, I note a much more efficient drive than the initial SSD in my ASUS.
I went to pick up these SSDs in the store in Rouen following a visit to the LDLC website
The store was very welcoming and responded to my request very quickly.
The store seemed very well stocked
As for the product, the SSD works very well for the cache of my NAS.
I chose this model because it has a good quantity/price ratio (at the time of purchase)
bought 199€ after stupidly believing the salesperson telling me that you couldn't find it cheaper at the moment given memory prices because of AI (which is true), I find it at 160€ on the internet and even on sale at 130€ on Amazon.
Well actually I didn't know, but I wasn't expecting such a gap... It's absurd.
Exceptionally I bought without checking... it doesn't work. lol
Otherwise the product is very good.
