An ultra-portable production solution
The Blackmagic DesignATEM SDI Extreme ISO includes all the features of the ATEM SDI Pro ISO, but with 8 SDI inputs and 4 SDI outputs. In addition, it can record 9 independent H.264 video streams in real time, allowing you to capture 8 clean feed inputs as well as program video. A DaVinci Resolve project file is also saved.
Next Generation Live Production
The ATEM SDI offers the portable design of the ATEM Mini. However, its SDI connections allow you to connect broadcast quality cameras and recorders. This makes it a next-generation live production solution! Thanks to its ultra-portable design, you can carry a broadcast quality live production system in a backpack! Use multiple cameras on location and stream their content directly to YouTube, or create a broadcast quality link to a studio with the ATEM Streaming Bridge. Unlike single-camera remote shoots, ATEM SDI allows you to connect multiple cameras to create interviews from multiple angles.
ATEM SDI is very easy to use, as you simply press one of the numbered input buttons on the front panel to switch between video sources. You can choose between Cut transitions or effects by selecting the Cut or Auto button. Unlike the Cut button, the Auto button applies a video effect when switching inputs. ATEM SDI Extreme includes built-in streaming functionality for live streaming via their Ethernet connection. Stream your content to YouTube, Facebook and Twitch in optimised quality, without image loss and with simplified settings.
Connect up to 8 broadcast cameras
With 8 video inputs, ATEM SDI allows you to connect multiple cameras for different viewing angles. Video cameras with SDI outputs, such as the Blackmagic Studio Camera or the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, are of much higher quality, as they offer better low-light performance and use professional lenses. All video sources will sync to the mixer, even if their video standard is different. So setting up on set is easy and hassle-free. Imagine having the creative freedom of live multi-camera production for interviews, plays, concerts and sporting events.
If you're doing live production on location, the ATEM SDI Pro and Extreme models support connection to an Apple or Android phone via the USB port to use your mobile data. It's also a great backup for the main Ethernet connection. The latest 5G phones and the most common 4G phones are compatible. The ATEM mixer will automatically detect when a phone is connected and switch the internet connection to it, without you having to change any settings.
Live production
The ATEM SDI allows you to create professional productions with the built-in video effects! The Cut button makes an instant cut when you switch between sources. The Auto button is typically used on larger mixers to activate transitions with video effects. The duration of the effects can be set to 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2 seconds. You can select the type of effect you want to include, such as Mix, which provides a fast transition between sources, or Dip, which fades in and out via colour during the transition. Or use the more playful DVE effects, which move the image off-screen as you transition between sources.
Two independent 3.5mm stereo audio inputs allow you to connect desktop and lapel microphones. You can even connect an audio player to play introductory music once the stream has started, but before the programme begins.
