In addition, with 4 HDMI inputs, you can stream your live content to any platform, whether it's YouTube, Facebook or Twitch. You can set up multiple camera angles for example to take wide shots or independent close-ups of each person around you.
The ATEM Mini features a compact control panel with all video, audio and control connections on the rear panel. The front panel includes easy-to-use buttons for selecting sources, adjusting audio inputs, and selecting various video effects and transitions. The rear panel includes HDMI inputs for connecting cameras or computers, as well as microphone inputs.
Intuitive and easy to use
ATEM Mini is very easy to use, as you simply press any of the input buttons numbered 1 to 4 on the front panel to change video sources or perform transitions. You can choose between transitions or effects by selecting the Cut or Auto button on the panel.
Unlike the Cut button, the Auto button uses the selected video effect when switching between inputs. You can choose between the most popular transitions like Dissolve, or more dramatic effects like Dip to Color, DVE squeeze and DVE push. DVE is ideal for picture-in-picture effects and you can instantly adjust the picture positions from the control panel buttons. There's even a media library for titles and graphics, accessible via the external control software.
Ideal for interviews
The ATEM Mini is ideal for interviews, as you can connect multiple cameras. This allows for close-ups of the presenter and speakers, as well as wide shots. In addition, the ATEM Mini is so compact that it can be used in small studios. You can record your content via the HDMI output or stream it live with the Open Broadcaster software.
For example, it can be ideal for streaming live eSports competitions on Twitch. Simply connect multiple game consoles and a camera for the presenter. The ATEM Mini operates at 60 frames per second, which offers fast gameplay. Plus, you can use the picture-in-picture effect for commentary!
Connect up to 4 independent cameras
Thanks to its 4 independent HDMI inputs, you can connect up to 4 consumer video cameras. The image quality of video cameras via HDMI is much better than that of simple webcam cameras. This is because video cameras have higher quality lenses and greater sensitivity in low light. All connected sources will synchronise to the mixer if they operate at different video standards.
This way you can be sure that all inputs are working properly and you can work with unfamiliar equipment with peace of mind. As cameras with HDMI connections can often be swapped lenses, you can use fixed focal length lenses for wide shots, and zoom lenses for close-ups. ATEM Software Control
The free ATEM Software Control software for Mac and Windows gives you full control over the functionality of the ATEM Mini mixer. Its intuitive interface displays mixer settings in a palette format for quick adjustments. Although it usually connects via USB, it can also be connected via Ethernet to connect multiple users to the ATEM Mini from different computers.
With this software, you can mix audio with effects, load still images and even program advanced macros. It is also possible to save the mixer status as XML files. In addition, if you need to play clips, you can control HyperDeck disk recorders via Ethernet.
