TheICY BOX IB-382H-C31 is an elegant external enclosure designed to hold a SATA 3.5/2.5" hard drive. Its USB 3.1 Type C interface enables ultra-fast data transfers with speeds up to 10 Gb/s. Its support for the UASP protocol and SATA III 6Gbit/s drives allows for a tenfold increase in actual transfer speeds compared to a standard USB 3.0 external enclosure. On the rear, a hub is accessible with 1 USB 3.1 Type C and 2 USB 3.1 Type A ports.

Worked very well 24/7 (kept open) with an 8TB hard drive for 2 years in good conditions (temperature, humidity). Then broke down after 2 years, from one day to the next, and won't turn on at all. So disappointed in the end...
Connected to my Thunderbolt port, I used it with its type C port in 10g/bits.
In use, the USB hub seems to switch quite slowly.
While the speeds are guaranteed on a sata SSD, disk accesses are crumbling at the rate of the nt equivalent of a 16MB HDD with a 5400tr cache ... On Amorphes Disk Mark in random mode, you can't expect more than 500 iops, compared with 5000 in direct type C with my 2.5" laptop.
On the other hand, for the price, you're competing with the hub or even the BIGDATA from LACIE...
My "seagate iron wolf 8 terra nas" drive is not supported. It is not powered. I have installed another 3.5 1 terra drive and it mounts without a problem. I'm waiting for feedback from the manufacturer to clarify all this.

very good value for money i have them some problem of connection compared to my computer but if not all goes well it turns every day without problem with indicator light of activity
