Honeywell was the first company in the barcode scanning industry to introduce disinfectant ready (DRH) enclosures designed for the healthcare sector. These devices have been specifically designed to withstand frequent exposure to recommended cleaning solutions.

This version of theEDA51(DHR version) can therefore withstand the demands of new cleaning protocols due to the increased sensitivity caused by the recent health crisis. TheEDA51 DHR has passed rigorous continuous chemical exposure tests in excess of 500 hours and is designed to withstand multiple cleanings per hour, every day, for over 5 years and has been approved for 34 cleaning solutions. Honeywell general purpose products with HRD, in most cases, meet the same environmental performance and drop specifications as those defined for non-HRD versions. The warranty for the EDA51 HRD is the same as for the non-HRD versions.
