The Voyager 1202g incorporates a Bluetooth Class 2 version 2.1 module, which allows for a distance of up to 10 metres from the base. Honeywell has also demonstrated that Bluetooth Class 2 communication can be extended up to 30 metres with a clear line of sight from the base. The 1202g offers increased security and freedom of movement, as mobility is no longer hindered by cables. For added convenience, the included paging system locates lost readers with visual and audio signals. The field replaceable battery can be changed quickly and easily without the use of tools. The long-life lithium ion battery, which is popular with users, can run for 12 hours or more and can also provide 45,000 reads per charge. The 1202g charges quickly, increasing productivity
