This laptop is overall very good. The CPU has few cores but in monothread it is surprisingly fast. The screen has a very thin pitch (1080p at 17", that's pixels too small for my eyes) but the image is matte and clean.
Think about upgrading the bios before kicking Windows out: there is no compatible utility to flash from Linux and reinstalling Windows is painful because the nvme drivers are missing on the Windows 10 and 11 DVDs.
GNU/Linux, so... Installation is fine. You need a kernel 5.14 minimum to have wifi. You also need to install the Sound Open Firmware to have sound (non free firmware), either directly from the sof-project website, or with the firmware-sof (Debian) or sof-firmware (Arch) package.
Note: with LMDE 5 (Debian), you have to backport a more recent kernel. The machine is quite noisy (the fans are running hard by default on this Debian). Moreover, acpi errors slow down the boot. With Manjaro/Arch, no more noise, the kernel is already good and the boot is ultra fast. The LMDE problems can surely be solved (grub upgrade and fan control).
Unmentionable positive point: the laptop opens very easily and shows a free 2.5" ssd/hdd slot with sata cable already in place. It took me 5 minutes to add a hard drive.
