Versatility for professional environmentsWith its USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, the LaCie 2big gets the best possible speeds on any recent Mac or PC. In addition, USB 3.0 backwards compatibility means the LaCie 2big can be connected to any standard computer. With exFAT support and hardware RAID, it's possible to connect to both a PC and a Mac without losing the RAID configuration. Whatever your workstation, move mountains of data quickly.
Thunderbolt 3 allows up to 6 devices to be daisy-chained to a computer via a single cable (included in the box). This means professionals can daisy-chain up to five LaCie 2big and a 4K display to a single computer, adding capacity, speed, and ease of use. Thunderbolt 3 is also compatible with first-generation Thunderbolt devices and computers and uses the exact same cables and connectors.

RAID technology for speed or securityIn addition to being compatible with any type of computer, hardware RAID provides improved performance and reliability. The different RAID modes available on the LaCie 2big also give you the flexibility to tailor it to your needs. Setting the RAID mode is incredibly easy, and it's impossible to accidentally change it. You can leave it in RAID 0 (FAST) to maximize speed and capacity for certain ongoing projects, then move finished projects into your archive in a snap.
You can also set the LaCie 2big to RAID 1 or mirror (SAFE ) to protect your data in the event of a drive failure. And thanks to its hot-swappable drives, you can easily replace a drive - from the front - without losing any data or interrupting ongoing tasks. Even in RAID 1 mode, its transfer speeds revolutionise backup and make it possible to do it much more often. The LaCie 2big also includes a JBOD mode that allows each drive to be used independently. |

The documentation is not provided. The LACIE / SEAGATE link is not clear. The site is hardly any more precise (software to use, consequences in the event of a breakdown, monitoring points, etc... ). Contact by email did not lead to anything. Contact by telephone was able to result in more detailed information. Online product registration does not work.
Great equipment, fast and efficient, but noisy when in use. For storage connected punctually no worries
