With the XY stereo microphones, you can cover a wide area while capturing centre sound sources with clarity. The two unidirectional condenser microphones are adjustable to 90 degrees for a tightly focused stereo image, or 120 degrees for a wider image.
The Zoom H4n Pro recorder has a built-in MS decoder for mid-side recording with external microphones. This allows you to adjust the width of the stereo image, which is particularly useful for sound design and broadcasting.
Extensive possibilities
This Zoom recorder is equally suitable for capturing concerts with a sound pressure level of up to 140 dB SPL as it is for podcasts or interviews. Indeed, you can connect a lapel microphone via the plug-in power supply through the dedicated socket.

A stereo line/headphone output on a 3.5mm mini jack with dedicated volume control allows for monitoring with headphones or connection to your digital camera, while the built-in mono speaker allows for quick review. In addition, a USB port allows for quick file transfer, firmware updates and use as a 2-in/2-out audio interface for computers.
Tailored to your needs
The two locking combo connectors accept balanced/unbalanced XLR or 1/4" plug cables and can accommodate mic and line level signals as well as instrument level signals. Phantom power of +24 or +48 volts can be supplied to both inputs.
The H4n Pro is powered by 2 AA batteries, which provide up to 6 hours of operation in normal mode, and up to 10 hours in STAMINA mode. For ideal backup of your recordings, this model accepts SD and SDHC cards up to 32GB.
