The best
I was looking for a recorder for my nursery class (singing) and to record myself with my instrument. I needed a recorder that was easy to use, discreet and of good quality. On the Web, when you do this kind of search, you quickly come across the zoom brand and the H1 essential, which are not unanimously acclaimed. However, after much hesitation, I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. Post-production results are superb and you get an excellent stereo sound file, even though I don't record in 'studio' conditions. I'd say that for a non-professional user (I suppose) this is a must-have recorder. The only downside is that the sound from the little built-in speaker isn't really up to scratch, so you can't check the quality of the recording on the fly (only afterwards on the computer). Excellent.
