Yes, the cable is short, but it's not an extender that I needed.
Depending on the configuration, mono-block adapters (with no cable) shift the weight of the cable onto the female USB-C connector. These adapters take the weight off the female connectors (Mac mini and UGreen hub, as far as I'm concerned) by transferring the weight of the cables/keys.
Quality connectors.
The essential adaptor I needed for my new Mac...(since it saw fit to change its plugs, alas!)
Good equipment, but it should be noted that the connecting cable is ridiculously short, which makes you wonder why? It's petty and regrettable...
Have a nice day!

My need was simple: to be able to plug a mouse dongle (Logitech M330 Silent Plus, USB-A format) into a PC that lacked USB-A ports... but had a USB-C port.
I wanted an adapter with a cable (and a short one - this one is 14.5 cm long, perfect), to avoid the weight and 'leverage' effect of an adapter without a cable... (potential risk of poor contact with the computer's USB-C port)
You have to force it (a little) to plug in the dongle, which is a guarantee of a good fit! (there's no risk of the dongle coming loose on its own).
The same applies to the PC: you have to use a little force to plug in the adapter. After that, nothing moves!
This adapter proved compatible with Windows 11 (my need being professional - even if I have trouble combining the words "Windows" and "professional"... anyway) and GNU/Linux (Debian 12 in my case, kernel 6.1).
For the community (LDLC & Linux), I tested the adapter with a Jabra Evolve 20 MS headset, and it worked perfectly (still under Debian 12).
My new car only has USB-C ports. With this adapter I can plug in my USB-A stick and listen to my music. Everything worked without a hitch and the adapter looks solid.
