    Make sure you have the right side (ordinary aluminium) and not the Apple logo up. ...

    I'm happy with mine and ordered one for my dad. I spent an hour on the phone with him because the new one kept spitting out discs. A useful trick to know if you are trying to help someone with the same problem is to make sure the superdrive is on the right side (solid aluminium) and the black side with the Apple logo is on the bottom.
