Buy to replace my Apple tv1!!!
It's not cheap but in the end it's justified
With the Apple tv4. The Apple ecosystem is really complete
I use it with Infuse which for me is easier than Plex ( media server)
Ordering, delivery, ..... all ok at the alcohol
I bought it to replace the previous version; it corresponds perfectly to my expectations.
I am a PLEX user and the remote reading, even with a low flow, is perfect: advance and impeccable return! I recommend without hesitation.
I've been using it for a while now and it's great:

After ordering an Apple TV 3 from LDLC, I immediately asked for a return because the 3 doesn't allow loading apps. Initially I didn't care, but many of the more "exotic" TV channels are only accessible via apps. So the Apple TV 4 is a must.
That being said the device is not perfect. The software was totally unstable at first. Fortunately, the problem has been solved (for now) by a software update.
So a word of advice: do the software update immediately; it doesn't happen automatically.
I was able to configure the APple TV very easily to work with a second remote control, the one on my amp, which had many buttons I didn't need.
There is also a free application for iPhone (Apple TV remote), but it does not exist for iPad. Surprising and unfortunate.
Otherwise, what can I say: the Apple TV fits perfectly in an Apple environment like mine. But it's hard for me to judge if the purchase is justified for a windozeux or googlhomme.
I've been waiting for a long time for a version where you could have the official Plex player and now it's here.
It works perfectly and without problems ... I can turn off and turn on my TV with it and adjust the sound ... I can turn my TV on and off with it and adjust the sound.... no more multiple remotes, one is enough for me now and it's a big plus.
I'm not sure if we can beat the quality of the apple tv with another box, and LDLC offered me a cover for the remote control, well done. I'm sure it will be a good one, but I'm not sure if it's a good one or not. lol..................................................................
I have a TV that has the "smart TV" option, but let's face it, it's not very accomplished. In terms of ergonomics (despite a keyboard on my remote) or performance.
With this apple TV, everything is different. It's fast, pretty, efficient and quite ergonomic (the touchpad remote control being a big part of it!).
With my old TV, I used to fetch the various movies stored on my NAS via DLNA. It worked, but there were no additional functions and I couldn't play all formats (I could play MKV, but not DTS, nor subtitles).
With the Apple TV, I can do everything. Be careful though, you have to buy an application to be able to enjoy all formats (mkv support, dts sound,...), it's called INFUSE and costs 10€. So yes, it's not cool to have to pay to play all formats but this application does more than that!
It allows you to fetch all the movies on a network drive, to assign them an automatic cover, to classify the series by season, with a summary for each episode (in French!). It also allows you to pick up where you left off and automatically mark as seen the episodes you've already watched, so you never get lost.
The Apple TV also allows you to play games, which is quite fun when you have nothing to do... Siri is great and impressive, especially for diction of passwords.
If you want a real multimedia interface for your TV, go for it! Get the 32GB version because honestly, I don't see how I could fill it up right now.
I have a NAS to centralize everything, I decided to get this Apple TV to finally stop fighting with my pc in hdmi on the TV.
I already had the 3 and the 4 just a wonder. I use infuse pro for movies and so far no problems.
I can't wait for the developers to come up with new apps.
I've been using it for a while now and I'm very happy with it.
This new version of the Apple TV is simply brilliant!
The interface has been redesigned, the Bluetooth remote control and its new features that no longer require you to have the box in front of you and above all... The appearance of applications! (The choice is meager for the start but it will come)
I replaced my Apple TV 3 and my WD TV Live which failed me with this one using Infuse Pro.
I am completely satisfied with my choice.
LDLC is serious as always when I buy from them.
