    hard to use

I received this trackball yesterday but I'm already really disappointed after just a few hours' use, especially for a mouse that costs almost £50. Ok, it's the cheapest trackball available from ldlc but still.

First of all, the general feeling is that you're holding something very light, I'd even say too light, which gives the impression of being poorly made. A bit like having a basic €10 wired mouse in your hand.

Then there are, in my opinion, two major design problems:
    - When laid flat, this trackball rocks back and forth as if in a permanent precarious balance. You can mitigate the effect by putting it on a mat, but it's still pretty unpleasant to use because it has a bit of trouble staying in place, especially as it's so light.
    - The ball tends to try to roll out of its housing when you roll it downwards. As well as making an annoying clicking noise, this obviously affects the way the whole thing works. What's worse is that I'm convinced Kensington know this, because they've placed a little lug behind the ball, as if to prevent it from coming out completely.

I've also noticed some inconsistencies in the detected movements of the ball, but as I said at the beginning, I've only had it a short time, so it's possible that it's a question of adjustments or getting used to it on my part, so I'm not counting it as a fault yet.

I wanted to finish on a more positive note, but to be honest I'm finding it hard to pinpoint any qualities. If you make an effort to compensate for the problems mentioned below, it's usable, but nothing more.

In conclusion, if like me you're looking for a replacement for the excellent and much-missed Logitech Trackman Marble FX, you'll have to pass.

    Good quality

Good quality product, symmetrical which allows it to be used by both left and right handed people.
The only drawback is that the ball is very open, which means that it can be used on the whole surface, but it can quickly fall off when the mouse is handled. I installed two of them at work and one of the two balls was quickly lost.

    Surprising

Nice device that avoids perpetual arm movements (useful for tendonitis cases).
Unfortunately not necessarily adapted to office applications that require moving the mouse while holding down a button
    Nevertheless a well finished product
