The D-Link DES-1008D is an unmanaged 10/100Mbps switch designed to enhance workgroups while offering great flexibility. Powerful yet easy to use, it allows you to use any port to connect to a 10/100Mbps network.

The D-Link DES-1008D is an unmanaged 10/100Mbps switch designed to enhance workgroups while providing flexibility. Powerful yet easy to use, it allows you to use any port to connect to a network at either 10Mbps or 100Mbps, increase bandwidth, improve response time, and meet heavy load demands.
The DES-1008D has 8 10/100Mbps ports, offering both Ethernet and Fast Ethernet network connections to a small workgroup. These intelligent ports detect the network speed and automatically negotiate between 100Base-TX and 10Base-T and also between full and half duplex modes.
All ports support 802.3x flow control. This feature minimises packet loss by sending collision signals when the receiving port buffer is full. Flow control is available in full-duplex mode.
All ports supportMDI/MDI-X auto-negotiation. This feature eliminates the need for a crossover cable or uplink port. Any port can simply connect to a server, hub or other switch using a single straight-through twisted pair cable.
This switch is the ideal choice for workgroups looking to increase network performance in a client/server environment. The ports can be connected to servers in full-duplex, or to hubs in half-duplex.
With a very low connection cost per port, this switch can be installed for direct connections from PCs. Thus, bottlenecks are relieved by offering each station a dedicated bandwidth on the network.
