I had this model and it seemed to me that renewing with the same model seemed logical. Excellent model, practical, complete and reliable.....if one had to find a flaw, it would be its weight, but we do not move it so no worries.
Easy and effective.
Rated 4 stars: does not have support for USB key, we make up for it with the cloud but it's a shame.

Brother makes reliable machines (my previous one is more than ten years old and still works properly) that do not seem programmed for obsolescence.

Excellent value for money for office use, relatively fast, especially the scanner. You can insert documents in different ways, which is handy for copying several sheets automatically. Laser printing is a plus if your documents get damp: the ink doesn't fade. Photo reproductions are not as good as those from a dedicated inkjet printer: it's also a star less for its weight of almost 20 kg; you'll need to build up your muscles or get help to set it up. Allow a little space around it for ventilation.
Rather fast, good-quality printer (as you'd expect from a new printer).
Simple but effective companion software (for Windows).
On the scanner side, you can save documents with an OCR that works really well!
A plus: you can scan a bunch of pages from the document feeder.
A minus: no automatic recto/verso and you can't reorganise scanned pages (with the companion software).
A minor downside: the wifi code was forgotten by the machine once on the first day ...
It's a very good scanner printer, but it's a shame it can only be connected to 5G.
Positive: the print quality. Negative: the replacement toners supplied with the printer do not correspond to the advertised specification of 1000 pages but rather 100 pages the price of the toners is exorbitant 240 euros to replace them and the product does not work under Windows if one of the toners is empty.
Great product, small footprint for all its functional possibilities. A must have.

A very good scanner printer, no problem. Fast, fairly easy to use, the only problem that arises quickly is the consumables.
Probably due to my fault, I do a lot of photo and illustration printing and I'm thinking of buying another printer, I can't keep consumables for less than a year, I've already placed 4 orders for a complete toner with a drum at nearly 200 euros per toner pack, I'll let you be the judge.
For classic document use, it's OK if you're planning to do illustration printing like me, you'd be better off with a tank printer.

Complete duplex printer with quality printing. On the downside, the distribution rollers tend to mark the sheets very slightly with a vertical stripe. I also regret that the driver is not available for older Mac versions (10.12).
Multifunction colour laser printer that does what it's supposed to do. It's night and day. I benefited from a brother discount.
Maybe it's not at maximum quality for photos, but it gives a very good impression of solidity and reliability. That's a change from HP. The print quality is very good.

Very well packaged product.
Reasonable footprint, fairly quiet compared to my HP Office jet 5230.
Easy to set up. Access to the various menus is fairly intuitive on the easy-to-read LCD screen.
Printer connected via Ethernet. Very fast printing.
Very good results when printing text files. On the other hand, mediocre results for photos or topographical maps, for example. So you need to target your use carefully.
