I bought this product a short time ago... I am about to take it back to the "LDLC" store, either for an exchange or for a refund because the cable that is connected to the device does not hold and disconnects at the slightest movement, making it impossible to watch a DVD...
Error-free burning on the first try with basic CDBurnerXP software and a yellow-ink CDR and not blue. This shows the performance

Does the job! (replacement for an LDLC DVD drive with metal casing) but it’s all plastic, the tray has trouble catching and I doubt it will last as long as the old one (more than 10 years).
2-3 opening and closing tests and the compartment no longer closes. From the very first opening you can feel there is a problem.
I have never seen such poor-quality reader.
The drive works perfectly well, however it says that it is sold with the Nero software, but that is a lie. You have to buy the software which costs more than the burner.
Bought as a CD player, rather fragile in construction, jams a bit when closing the tray. However, at that price, it does the job well.

Connecting the cable to the recorder is not very reliable. You often have to disconnect and reconnect the connector.
The drive is not recognised by Windows 11. The USB power supply is operational, which allows the drive to be opened, but that's all. I tried all the USB ports on my PC, modified the registry, checked the bios... Couldn't read a simple CD: no use at all!
I can't play DVDs on this player. I don't know why. Some explanation would be appreciated.
I ran out of an internal drive/writer and didn't have an equivalent in stock when I went to the shop, so I followed the advice of the very professional salesman and invested in this external CD/DVD drive/writer, and I don't regret my purchase!
It's plug and play and easy to use.
A good brand, a good product; what more could you ask for apart from a tight and reasonable price, which is the case.

I bought this DVD player to solve a playback problem on an old player on a specific DVD, this player has solved this problem. However, the drawer of this drive does not close properly, it is noisy when the computer starts up if it is plugged in and contains a DVD and has a slow playback speed (slight jerkiness when playing films). But I imagine it's worth the price, so if you want a cheap drive, go for it.
