The hard drive is top-notch, does the job well and is compatible with Mac/PC if you format it properly.
I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the engraver. The engraver is easy to use and very practical.
The product is exactly as described and works perfectly for data backup purposes.
I've had photos on my computer since I bought it in 2000. So now when I take photos and import them into my computer, I can't find them. That's why I went out and bought this hard drive. I transferred the photos. It's very easy to use, because afterwards you can work on the hard drive by deleting certain photos. I'm very happy with my purchase. I can now transfer photos from my phone to my computer again.

Update to my review:
After two years and one month of good service, i.e. precisely after the end of the warranty, the hard disk is showing faults that make it dangerous to use. That's a lot of money to change every two years, not to mention the time it takes to transfer all those files between hard drive and back-up.
A thorough analysis found a good number of 'bad blocks' on the drive.
After a complete reformat, however, it seems to be working fine and, what's more, no bad blocks appeared after 20 minutes of testing (admittedly very partial).
NB: the HDD has probably been corrupted by under-powering by the de hub used. so always be careful with that!
I have another Toshiba 3G hard drive which seems to be holding up very well.
With its reinforced cardboard box, you'll never have to worry about RAM-destroying shocks when you're out in the field! Thank you TOSHIBA CANVO ADVANCE 4 TO BLACK !

An HDD that can be used like an HDD - in red, I can quickly spot it on my desktop, I'm using it as a mobile drive, and so far, so good.
Simple installation and an efficient, reliable product for good value for money. What's more, I can back up my data manually or automatically using the software included with this Hard Disk.
Why did I give it this rating? Because I wanted a product that was easy to use, and this is a good product, practical to use and not too expensive.

Hello, after saving more than 2T of data on this external hard drive, a week ago it is impossible for me to open it to display my files! I've been using it for hours with the blue light flashing and making noises: clack-clack-clack!!!, it remains unknown by only being displayed briefly to disappear from the icon bar making it impossible to unplug the device properly. I need help to recover my data.

I use it for my external backups. An ad hoc cable is provided to connect the hard drive to the computer. ALL CLEAR.
I have to say that I am very pleased with the service and the quality of the product.
The HDD works normally and no problems at this time. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'm not sure how fast it will run, as I only back up my files weekly.
So I'll have to ask again in 4 years :-)

I already own a Toshiba Canvio Ready, so I knew what to expect from the brand: the hard drive is compact, fast, easy to use and above all the 4TB give peace of mind about storage. If I had one comment to make, and this is what costs it a star, it's that the photo is a bit misleading. It's not really red, it's more of a pink colour. It's not a disaster in itself, I took this one to differentiate it at first glance from my other hard drive which is black, but I would have preferred to see red rather than pink.
Surprisingly light, does the job.
Contrary to what is written in the data sheet, for compatibility with a mac, you have to reformat the hard drive.
Apart from that, no problem, to see in time.

I bought this to replace two 1TB Toshiba hard drives that were getting very old, I am very happy with it.55MB average transfer rate in USB 3 which is ok.Toshiba customer for years, I never had any problem with their hard drives, which are really reliable.So I recommend this product with my eyes closed.
After formatting, I can use it very easily on my mac mini and on my small Asus PC, to easily embed all my video documents.
I recommend it!
