Good value for money
I'm used to Seagate HDDs but in portable format, so I chose this model to have a big backup that stays on the desktop.
It's working well so far and transfers are pretty quick.
There are two minor points to note:
- it's still quite noisy (I also have a Lacie 5TB that's about ten years old on my desktop and it's just as noisy)
- it goes into standby mode as soon as it's not in use, which has the advantage of not making any noise when you're not using it, but when you're transferring files one after the other, it takes a few seconds to re-open the files on it or perform an operation.
I would have liked to have been able to find the 10TB version at LDLC, but it seems harder to find in the shops generally.
Otherwise LDLC is top notch when it comes to shipping (arrived the day after ordering), and the service is impeccable both online and in shop!
