Good CD player that works on Windows and Mac, but I would have liked it to also work on devices such as the Freebox, to avoid having to buy a DVD player.
It worked fine at first to play a DVD then I didn't need it until now, but now nothing!
It runs CD/DVDs, but stops after about 20 seconds without any reaction from the computer (Xubuntu 22.04). Outdated warranty, too bad...

I've been using it for a while now, but it's a great tool, and I'm very pleased with the quality of the product. I've been using it for a while now, but it's not a big deal to me. The aluminium casing (very elegant and sleek) dissipates heat well but, as a result, you can hear the noise of the rotation at full speed. This is usual for all burners. I didn't have to connect the two (Y) cables for the moment, which could be a problem given my configuration.

I was looking for a player to install products that are not yet dematerialized. As the use of this device is becoming less and less frequent, this LDLC product was the perfect answer to my request for its price.
Good device it seems, but strangely: 4 successive burning failures with a USB 3 connection (the burner seems to disconnect at the beginning of the process), successful burning without any problem with a USB 2 connection.
Space-saving and easy to use. Very good value for money and simple design.

I ordered this LDLC external drive/burner thinking it was compatible with the Linux operating system of my Lenovo 500e Chromebook, since the technical specifications stated that it was Linux compatible.
Despite my efforts to install regionset on the Debian GNU/Linux 9 version of my Chromebook, the LDLC Customer Service Chat told me that since the operating system did not recognize the connected device when blank or audio CDs were inserted, it was probably not compatible. I was told that since the operating system did not recognise the device when it was plugged in with blank CDs or audio, it was probably not compatible. LDLC sent me a free return slip to stick on the packaging of the player which I sent to LDLC St Quentin Falavier. While waiting for my refund, I will have to turn to a competitor of LDLC to find a compatible burner because, according to the LDLC Chat, there is currently none at LDLC!

I am very satisfied with LDLC and the player, delivery time respected even during the strike. I will not hesitate to buy other equipment from this site.
I regret that my case does not have any more possibility of placing a CD/DVD burner; but it is the fashion!
So I decided to go with this choice; I regret it a little because this burner is small to handle, the cable is very short and I have problems to burn in particular a cd/dvd of Windows recovery.
I think I will eventually change to something more powerful.

The delivery time was respected. The order was fully compliant with my expectations and was packaged very carefully.
Space-saving, easy-to-use equipment. Good value for money and simple design. Suitable replacement for drive units built into the computer (computers with towers).
I rarely used this product but I had a backup of 12 DVDs to make these days. The mechanics of this burner failed me after 6 burns!
In short, the case is nice, compact but what is inside is very light.
Nothing beats a good old internal burner where the drawer does not contain any mechanics!

It's a beautiful product, it's sleek, thin and well finished.
It's quiet and easy to use, just plug it in and you're good to go.
I have not had any problems with compatibility with my PC on Windows 10.
It's a great product and I'm very happy with it.
The finish is average. The drawer is not motorised. Otherwise it does the job expected. I have a slight doubt about the long term reliability, but this is mainly due to the general finish. I have a real doubt: the warranty period indicated on the instructions is one year, but on your website two versions appear at the same time in different places, one for 1 year and the other for 2 years. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but I'm sure it is, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea. So if LDLC could clarify the situation it would be great. I have been a customer of LDLC since the beginning of the company's creation and I am generally very satisfied with this brand. I'm a bit disappointed by this first purchase of an LDLC product.

I bought this player/writer to rip CDs, which it does adequately.
Negative point: It needs 2 USB ports to work.
1 is probably used to power the drive, the other for data.
However, I have my doubts about the durability of the item over time.
I'm on Linux, Ubuntu 18. When I received it, I first plugged it in as is: it seemed to work. Disciplined, I did the "zoning" as indicated by the LDLC helpdesk:
1 install the regionset package:
-connect to the internet
-open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and type
sudo apt install regionset
- after giving your password, it installs itself
2 -connect the drive and insert a disk (I put an empty CD)
3 - in the terminal type the command:
regionset /dev/cdrom
4 - type "Y
5 - type "2" to determine the zone (2=Europe)
and that's it. Quick and easy. Good product

Installed without any problems. The only point I would like to mention is that the double USB cable is quite short (about 50 cm). As my two free sockets are at the back of the fixed PC, I was thinking of putting the drive on the front of the tower. For my configuration, it is too short to put it as I would have liked.
Conclusion: good product, think about the wiring constraints (2 free USB sockets, with 50 cm of cable max).

Whoa! I've never seen an external drive before and as someone who owns an iMac and has no built-in drive, this one is really useful for any kind of installation.
Small and thin, this drive doesn't take up much space in the storage area and it's quite quiet.
LDLC offers a quality product for its tiny price. It's a must have if you're looking for a cheap drive/writer that does its job excellently. The only negative point is the two USB ports that it monopolizes, which is not always pleasant because it has to be disconnected.
Product corresponding to my expectations. Small, small footprint, allows me to run programs on DVD in most cases (it's not because of the drive but some software are not to the new W10 standards).

Simple to connect and no more wasted space on my desk. Connected to a NUC with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB SSD. The access time is more than reasonable and the price/quality ratio is unbeatable.

This reader is directly recognized by Windows 1O, compact, silent and portable, it works in USB 3.0 and it does not require any charger but requires 2 free usb ports to be able to connect it in all safety. unbeatable quality/price ratio!
I preferred to buy a laptop without a drive for reasons of comfort (weight & thickness). This external drive fulfils its role perfectly, at an attractive price. It is only used very occasionally as I now mainly use large capacity USB sticks, but you may need to play an "old" DVD from time to time!
The player is small and efficient and does what it is asked to do.
However, I spent some time to understand that the region of the dvd player was not configured (under linux Manjaro). It's just a matter of doing it with the regionset utility. It would be nice if this was stated in the product description.
I haven't managed to burn yet and I don't know if it's software or hardware, no opinion on this side for the moment.
