This motherboard was acquired following an unfortunate flash of a computer with a ryzen 5 1600. This seems to be the only new motherboard that still supports this processor. I put xubuntu on the hard disk and the OS recognises it well.
One small shortcoming: no slot for an NVME SSD, but for an office/internet/light photo work machine this is of little importance.
