PC suited for office work and recent games.
Well-equipped connectivity.
Quite compact for a gamer PC.
Is noisy at times even if there is no intensive use.
So I'd say the big negative is the noise from the fan, even when it's not being used very much, or even when it's inactive. The 2nd flaw is that if it switches off, you have to unplug everything and press for 60 seconds to really switch it off, and then you can restart it, which is a strange and unpleasant procedure.
I find this PC incredibly slow to open folders, various applications... (often more than 10s to open an excel sheet, for example).
Very good product. This PC meets the specifications requested by my daughter's school. She uses it for her interior design studies. She needed a high-performance PC to host the 3d software.
Quite a few good things, notably a good GPU/CPU/battery balance and a 1080p screen (very sufficient on a 15" and reduces the GPU load, but curiously rare). It's also cool that MSI have redesigned the grill under the laptop, as previous models with 2 pieces glued together were fragile and this one-piece design inspires more confidence. As for the rest, the weight is within the norm and the cooling is up to scratch, unlike some of the competition.
Only 4 stars because the SSD capacity is a bit low (even though it's not such an expensive component), and the CPU/RAM balance is not great (personally, for a gamer audience, I'd use fewer CPU cores, or more RAM). I'd also have liked a bit more connectivity (especially an extra USB-A), but you can never have enough connectivity...
After examining the alternatives, I took this one + changed the SSD and RAM to go to the top notch, and the recipient is happy with the end result :)
