    Excellent map

    My choice fell on this very powerful card, which is surprisingly quiet, if not inaudible: 40°C / 0 RPM in normal use and max ~50/55°C / 1.1k+ RPM under load, which makes the sound of breathing quite acceptable). No coil whine for me (could be impacted by a bad power supply and OC).

    In a Config configuration:
    - Fractal medium-tower design case, very well ventilated with Noctua
    - Dark Power 13 1000W. (dedicated PCie 5.0 600W connector).
    - AMD 7950X3D
    - Crucial T700 SSD
    - DDR5 64GB

    Coming from a configuration with RTX3070 /AMD 5600X, it's obviously night and day (5120x1440 / ULTRA everywhere).

    Purchased almost as soon as it was released, it has since been used to full capacity as a replacement for an RTX 3080 installed in a secondary PC.

    In games, the gain is colossal, from simple to double, there are practically no more questions to ask when launching a game. With its VRAM, you can even play in 8K even if the acceptable performances are rather in 6K (very useful for some rare games with average textures). You can even set an aggressive power limit without losing anything.
    The card is silent and hardly heats up, which is a change from my 3080 Ventus which at one time reached 80 degrees (here we are more in the 50-60 range). This Gainward model also has a very pleasant look. Be careful, this is a 3x8pin version limited to 450W unlike the FE for example. This is not a very important point for me but it is better to know it.
    Finally, when used in machine learning and editing, the performances are also there.

    In short, a very expensive card but one that is fully satisfying, frustrating on any use. This particular model is also very good if you hide the plastic support to avoid sagging which is of very poor quality and which has broken over the mounting of new gear (I ordered another metal one for not much, they could have made an effort).

    Bulky but powerful and quiet card

    After a careful and ultra-fast delivery, the beast is here and yes the card is very big and just fits: length, width but also the cables of the 12VHPWR power connector on top (in my HTPC Origen S16V case, or on the side in a classic tower case) force to have a considerable gap between the wall and the card. So I had to cut my aluminium wall to avoid bending or crushing the cable, which is strongly discouraged for this new type of connector. In operation, nothing to say, surprisingly quiet and above all ultra-controlled temperatures, the cooling solution provided for 3090s is here almost oversized. No overclocking on my side (rather useless considering the power) but to note that Gainward does not propose the best PCB and power supply stages, it is correct without more. An MSI suprimX for example is better in this respect, but also more expensive.
