The DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor features a machined metal thumbwheel and offers only editing-specific buttons. It includes Bluetooth and an internal battery for wireless connection, but it can also be connected via USB-C. This makes it even more portable than a standard keyboard!
Control with the wheel
With DaVinci Resolve keyboards, you'll feel closer to your editing than with a mouse. Because thewheel is made of machined metal, you can turn it quickly to move around the timeline. You can also use it for live cropping. Simply press one of the Trim buttons to turn it into a precise real-time trim control. Once you've tried trimming with the wheel, it's almost impossible to go back to the mouse!
Transport controls and direct wheel connection
Hardware panels are perfect for quick control of playback. Instantly start and stop playback with the space bar at thumb level, and the Shuttle, Jog Scroll buttons change the function of the scroll wheel for fast and accurate editing.
With the quality wheel built into the panel, you have a very precise way of trimming shots. The size of the wheel will transform the way you trim shots and make you more efficient. The Trim buttons switch the wheel into trim mode and can be held down while turning the wheel. This allows you to select the trim mode with your left hand while adjusting the seam with your right hand. It's extremely fast! The smart indicator in the timeline will tell you which edit you are trimming. All you have to do is move around the timeline and trim the live edits. It's a whole new way of working!
Function keys
DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor has been designed in a compact format. It doesn't have QWERTY keys, so it only has the editing keys, but it does have extra keys compared to the Keyboard Editor! In addition, some of the keys have a different function when you press them long or twice , so the keyboard retains all its power, but in a more compact and portable format. The keys are grouped by category, so you can easily find them by touch and edit your images faster than with a normal keyboard.
Sync bin multimedia selection
The camera number section allows you to select cameras when using the Sync bin on the Cut page. In addition, if you select a number while turning the wheel, the selected camera will be applied to the timeline in real time as you move forward in Jog mode. This function is called Live override. On the Speed Editor keyboard, you can activate it by holding down the Camera button, or you can lock it using the Live override button. When this feature is locked, the buttons will light up and you will be able to select the cameras just like on a production switcher. The multi-view will be displayed and you can switch between the cameras. In addition, this section includes Video only and Audio only buttons for even more control!
Bluetooth and USB control
The DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor is Bluetooth enabled, so you don't have to worry about cables. You can even use it in conjunction with a standard computer keyboard. This is ideal if you work with a laptop. You can also use the keyboard via the USB connection, which will charge the internal battery at the same time. Thanks to the Bluetooth technology and the built-in battery, you can take your keyboard with you everywhere!
