The almost perfect carpet?!
I just got a Razer Firefly v2, in itself an excellent mat with a crazy glide, but unfortunately too small.
When the Strider was announced, I thought BINGO! This is what I need.
So, for once the marketing terms are not misleading, we are indeed on a hybrid product between a fabric that clings too much and a rigid that slides in all directions.
So, perfect? Yes and no.
No, because to get this result they gave the mat a very rough surface, even abrasive. I don't know about the mouse pads yet, but for your wrist, that's for sure. So I'm taking off a little star.
Yes, because you really get the middle ground between not enough glide (fabric) and sometimes too much glide (rigid).
And what else? Well...
For :
- what has been said above, but also...
- a relatively contained price (false reputation of expensive items),
- once unrolled it is flat! Yes yes, no ripples or anything,
- excellent grip, hasn't moved a millimetre since I installed it,
- no LED?
Cons:
- nothing (apart from what was said above), or...
- no LED?
The unknowns :
- more or less wear of the skates?! To be seen in time.
In addition: I use a Glorious Model D 'Mat' mouse, and a Durgod K320 keyboard that I can straddle on the carpet and my desk without it limping.
The "tests" were done on Doomineur, not Deminecraft, not yet! Actually mainly Quake Champions (fast FPS - free).
