Modular power supply 1200W ATX 12V 2.51/EPS 12V 2.92

Overview

A technology-packed power supply that delivers top performance

The Dark Power Pro 12 is the most advanced power supply ever designed by be quiet! It features an unmatched efficiency of up to 94.9% as a result of the first 80 PLUS Titanium certification and a fully digital PFC and LLC + SR / 12V control, resulting in better regulation and lower ripple noise. For these reasons, the Dark Power Pro 12 is a model of efficiency and stability. In addition to unrivalled efficiency, the patented frameless fan concept with SilentWings fan ensures an optimised cooling effect and virtually inaudible operation for ordinary loads. All these features make the new Dark Power Pro 12 the most scalable power supply ever built by be quiet!

Enjoy more and more performance

The Dark Power Pro 12's ingenious design ensures exceptional performance. The corolla shape, which houses the fan underneath the power supply's grille, allows for increased airflow without generating turbulence. The installed SilentWings fan includes a wide range of electronic and mechanical optimisations for even more efficient airflow, all in a quiet manner. The variable fan speed is digitally controlled to achieve the perfect balance between cooling and silence.

This power supply features advanced Full Bridge, LLC, Synchronous Rectifier (SR) and DC/DC voltage conversion circuitry for unmatched signal stability and unbeatable power efficiency. Its overclocking key allows switching from four independent 12V rail operation to single rail operation. Equipped with high quality Japanese capacitors, this power supply guarantees maximum reliability and longevity. Finally, it ensures you optimal performance as it takes advantage of optimised component protections against overcurrent, overvoltage and undervoltage, short circuit, overheating, overload.

    Bad CPU cables

    The power supply does not come with the correct cables for the CPU connectors:

    There are :
    a 10 pins cable (2 empty) -> 10 pins (2 empty)
    a 8-pin cable -> 8-pin
    instead of
    a 10-pin cable (of which 2 are empty) -> 8 pins
    a 10-pin cable (of which 2 are empty) -> 4 pins + 4 pins

    As a result, it is not possible to power the 8-pin connector of the motherboard (there is no 8-pin connector left once the ATX 24 cable is installed) -> The second P8 slot of the power supply which should serve this purpose is waiting for a 10-pin connector (of which 2 are empty) -> it cannot be used with the 8-pin cable. When the 10 pin connector (2 empty) is too wide and does not fit well to feed the 4 pins of the motherboard (it should be a 4 + 4).

    I have to order a CC-4420 and a CC-7710 cable in order to supply the motherboard with power ... but LDLC does not sell them.

    Quiet power supply and very stable voltage

    Bought this as a replacement for a 2013 Dark Power Pro 10 1000W which still works great, but hums a bit. This one is almost inaudible, you really have to stick your ear to the tower to hear the operating noise of this power supply. Be Quiet! has outdone itself!

    Using for the moment with an average load of 25%, that is to say 300-320W, the voltages are "ultra" stable. In 3V and 5V, it does not move! In 12V, it fluctuates minimally, about 1%. This is what you want when you buy a power supply, because stable voltage = component with a longer life. As there is very little variation in voltage, there is also a gain in temperature on all components: -2°C on average on the SSDs, -5°C on the processor, -6°C on the motherboard VRMs, etc. I didn't expect such a difference at this level!

    Of course, the price is a bit high (even with a 15% discount on the purchase), but quality has to be paid for. It's important to keep in mind that this is a key part of your computer, and that you don't change your power supply every day. I just wish I had the same level of equipment on a 1000W block.
