The Netgear GS750E is a Gigabit Ethernetswitch with 48 portsand 2 SFP ports for uplinking to a core network. Netgear's ProSafe Plus range of manageable Gigabit smart web switches are designed for businesses that need to be able to handle growing traffic, with an increasing number of applications such as VoIP phones and IP cameras on their network infrastructure.
The Gigabit Smart Manageable Web Switches Plus also include Layer 2 network configuration features such as VLAN, QoS, IGMP snooping, link/port aggregation on models with 16 or more ports, rate limiting and traffic control. Netgear Plus manageable smart web switches are an evolution of non-manageable plug-and-play switches.
Voice/video prioritisation
Offering customised QoS definition and configuration, these Gigabit Plus manageable smart web switches can detect various types of network traffic and assign the appropriate priority level to latency-sensitive traffic such as voice and video. This improves the quality of service for relevant applications such as VoIP, multimedia broadcasting and video conferencing.
IGMP Snooping optimises multicast performance at Layer 2, which is essential for bandwidth-intensive multicast applications such as IPTV.
Network segmentation into multiple groups
The Manageable Web Plus Gigabit smart switches also allow WANs to be split into smaller groups for optimal management and targeted resource allocation to one or more groups. This feature improves overall performance, enhances traffic security and optimises network resource allocation.
All manageable Gigabit smart web switches feature a cabling diagnostic function that makes it easy to check the integrity of network cables. In the event of a problem, this feature quickly identifies the point of failure in the cable, allowing for rapid resolution of the problem.
