Indeed, there is a power cable so if you think you are going to put the camera in a place without a power outlet at less than 3 meters, you will not be able to install the camera. In addition, it is absolutely necessary to have a Micro SD card to save or view the recorded images, otherwise you cannot view the recordings without the card. Not yet tested with the card but on order
