Functional lighting for less than €20
Older generation" but functional LED strips, in RGB (at all), 12 volts and 4-pin connectors.
- only one colour on the whole strip at any given time; no chromatic fusion effect like on recent A-RGB models.
- 15 colours available, BUT possibility to have a nice, cold, clean and bright white light, which I personally use for handling and maintenance in my housing (not for disco).
- 4 visual effects programs + the fixed and constant light mode.
- 10 levels of light intensity, very practical to adapt to each person's eyes. These RGB 5050 LED chips are really bright. They dazzle at maximum intensities, so I don't recommend watching them live.
- The controller/adapter box measures approx. (L x W x H): 6.0 x 3.6 x 2.2 cm (including mounting holes).
- the cables are rigid, so you will have to fix them to your setup. The cables are rigid, so you'll have to fix them to your configuration (5 colrings are provided for this) as the magnets under the ribbons are a bit weak (although this also totally depends on the materials of your case).
- the remote control is I.R. (short range and stay close to the receiver to use it). It accepts two types of button cells: CR 2025 (supplied) or CR 2032, which we all know from our motherboards.
- One final note: the power supply to the controller (and therefore to the ribbons) is via a 4-pin molex plug (which can be inserted into a circuit already in use in the case). It should also be possible to connect them directly to motherboards with 4-pin RGB ports, and then make the adjustments via the manufacturers' software.
All in all, perfect for me who wanted to have a clean, white light for maintenance and handling inside my case without having a headlamp or torch in my hands.
