Performance in line with my expectations, I've never been disappointed by WD!
Purchased to replace an ageing "classic" Red, this Pro version is still noisier, which can be annoying depending on the room where it is installed.
LDLC delivery is always top notch, ultra-fast and very well protected and packaged!
The hard drive is very good. I haven't yet been able to measure its performance. As for reliability, in the past I've had specialist RAID drives that lasted at least 5 years, and if I've changed a few, it's because I was running out of space, not because they'd failed. The drive is still a bit noisy when it's performing operations (it 'scratches'), hence one less star.
The main point has been made in these comments.

Of course, as always, less efficient with small files.
The WD Red Pro 14Tb joined its little friends in the NAS without a hitch. Nickel installation, immediately recognised, it does its job perfectly as expected. Quiet, reliable, perfect for long-term storage. A sure bet for demanding NAS users!
Very satisfied with this hard drive, as always, or almost always with Western Digital drives. Quiet, large storage capacity. No problems with installation and support with QNAP TS-464-8G. But, not enough hindsight, to assess the reliability of this drive in the long term :).
A drive designed for long-term use with a heavy workload.
There's certainly more to it than that, but among HDDs designed for NAS and small servers, its capacity to withstand the load of annual transfer volumes puts it at the top of the range, with a 5-year warranty compared with 2 or 3 years for competitors.
+ More expensive than others, but designed to last under intensive use.

Large capacity, fast performance recognised directly by the Synology ds224+ nas, ideal for family use.

If you need plenty of storage space, but don't want to be rushed by transfer times, this is the drive for you.
This is my 3rd WD RED PRO drive, the other two being in the NAS. Reliable, fast, silent, it's an excellent choice, even if the price is high.
High-performance hard drive optimised for use on NAS.
I installed it in a QNAP 1-bay NAS for more multimedia-oriented use (direct download to NAS, broadcasting via SMB, DLNA, etc.), and it does the job with the expected performance.
I ordered 2 disks to replace (and increase the size of) the Raid 1 of my NAS.
Only 1 of the 2 disks purchased is detected (the other being out of order as soon as it was unpacked).
I've made a service request to LDLC (I hope for a standard replacement), but I wonder about the reliability of the brand... Is this an isolated case or not?
The delivery time is correct without more, on the other hand the packing of the parcels is a real problem with you that you don't seem to be interested in improving in spite of numerous negative opinions on this subject.
I have ordered hard drives with platters twice in a few months and each time I received them in a simple cardboard packaging without any protective bubbles around.
I think that you are losing people because of this problem and I am one of those customers who will buy elsewhere in the future and everyone knows that a customer who goes elsewhere tells others who will do the same thing.
These two disks are used in a NAS in RAID 1. I'm very satisfied with them for the moment, despite the little noise they make almost all the time. I hope that they will last a long time, because the aim is to ensure the durability of the backups, which therefore exist in three copies: the PC disks and the two NAS disks.
The disc was well protected, and delivered on time as promised.
It has a very good service and is optimal, whether in a NAS or in a fixed PC.
The pluses :
Appreciable transfer speed
Works perfectly with a Synology DS220+
Minus: coupled with the synology, when leaving standby or when it scratches. the noise is quite audible.

The hard drive works perfectly normally and is not especially noisy.
It is a very good product, but it is also very good for the price...
Nothing to report about this hard drive, which replaced an old dying 500GB HDD in my NAS without any fuss at the time of installation.
However, I have to agree with other comments about LDLC's packaging of hard drives. I'm not a specialist, but two layers of cardboard packaging + the antistatic pouch, that seems to me to be a bit light for a precision mechanical device.
I ordered 2 disks of this model to install them in a Synology DS216J nas in RAID1 and the performance is great! However, I remove 1 star because LDLC could have packaged the disks better considering their price ... ! I would recommend these drives for a nas use !
I have just received my package, very well packed.
I don't think there will be any errors when installing the two disks in RAID 2 sata III.
I'm just disappointed that I haven't yet received my server that goes with it.
I hope to receive it soon, which is within a week, the customer service is a flagship of the LDLC site.
