This little 4 to 8 pin adapter is very useful to power the processor of a modern motherboard (8 pin) from a rather old 4 pin output power supply (although the 4 pin connector fits on the CM and seems to be sufficient according to the documentation....subject to the printed circuit board which ensures equipotentiality holds the current). In short, a small accessory that ensures the conformity of the processor's power supply. With kind regards.

I bought this adapter to avoid buying a new power supply. It does the job very well and allowed me to extend the power cable slightly to hide it.
My mini ITX motherboard needed the 8 pin auxiliary power supply and the PICO power supply I have only provides 4 pins, so it worked perfectly!

I've been using this adapter for a while now, but it's not a good idea to use an old power supply on a new motherboard with an 8 connector. I've been using a 4 connector on a 8 cm, but for security reasons I prefer to use this adapter...I have the power supply at the bottom of the case (a Cooler Master N200) and the power supply plug at the top...the power supply cable was too short: this adapter allows you to extend it by about 10 cm.
It's very useful for those who, like me, change their motherboard and realize that the connector next to the CPU is no longer 4-pin but 8-pin^^ so it's very nice to find this kind of cable! In addition, it allows me to extend my cable which was a little short and now passes behind the motherboard which is cleaner.

There is nothing more annoying than getting a PSU and finding out that it only has a 4-pin port when the motherboard requires 8... This little adapter solves the problem. A bit expensive for what it is but it avoids changing the power supply so it's all good!
