This "Eaton Ellipse PRO 850 FR" model is quieter than the "Eaton Ellipse PRO 850 FR", whose fan continues to run, even when computers and other peripherals are switched off, and therefore produces a slight noise. In comparison, this less powerful model is almost as quiet as the more powerful one, even though the designs of this model series are identical.
It does the job, but ages very quickly.
On-line power electronics are useful, but they are subject to a lot of stress,
so you have to buy a new device every three years, so there's no point in changing the battery.
The UPS blew the circuit breaker at the electrical panel with no message to warn me, in short disposable material. It remains to be seen if the NAS will restart

As described, easy to install.
Quite quiet, it is in my dining room.
It seems to be working well for several months.
I hope it will last longer than the previous one (3-4 years)
The features are perfect, especially the "eco" mode: it cuts out all the superfluous stuff like the switch and various adapters, leaving only the box.
The LCD display is not very readable when the device is placed low.
The PC software is OK, but not much more: no consumption curves, that would have been easy. A bit difficult to find.
No possibility of shutdown management other than the PC (it works fine) because it is a USB link.
As in general, be careful not to make mistakes: the indication of power in VA is misleading, it is the input power, not the output power which is given in W.
Overall very good.
Product replacing the same product that broke down after 6 years (not financially repairable, electronic failure)
It remains to be seen how reliable it is over time
I gave it this rating because it is easy to install and quiet.
I use it with a synology DS720+ NAS
The 4 stars less are for the noise after 3 months of use (rest RAS), certainly not fan but this small electric noise of operation is very unpleasant, especially if like me it is in the piece of furniture next to the office, inaudible at 2-3 meters of the office however, but I change for a model APC BV1000I-GR Easy UPS BV 1000VA which is of a silence !!!!

I was looking for a silent inverter and this is the case with this one: no fan noise! It is true that there is a fan but it only starts when the mains is cut off. I did the mains cut test with my PC and the inverter switches on without disturbing the computer. I also like the display which shows the total power of the equipment connected to it.
This UPS is exactly what I was looking for. It allows me to ensure the permanence of my server under Freenas (which can also control it). As it is alone on it, the autonomy displayed is 50 to 55 minutes. I saw wide but I prefer.
I've been using it for a while now, but I'm not sure how long it will last.
A simple to install and use UPS that allows you to protect all kinds of sensitive installations at a low cost.
Simply plug in all the equipment to be protected, connect to the mains and the UPS starts automatically. The LCD display shows the consumption in Watts in real time and allows you to configure the basic options.
As my installation consists of two PC towers configured as servers, the estimated battery life is about 15 minutes. This is more than enough time to cope with a short outage.
Note that it is sold with the battery charged, which is rather practical for the first start-up.
However, I quickly encountered a problem during the first start-up: the sockets backed up by the battery did not work at all, even if the box did not show any apparent anomaly. LDLC's after-sales service quickly redirected me to Eaton's, who simply replaced the defective inverter at their expense. Since then, no more problems.
In the end, I recommend this product for those who want to protect their personal server in case of a prolonged power cut. The two after-sales services were very competent, despite my problems, which is very appreciable.
Only 1 month of use but very satisfied. It has already coped with a power cut.

compact, beautiful, and easy to use, with its backlit screen we can all check and control the output voltage of the inverter, check the instantaneous consumption and thus be able to adapt the devices connected to optimize the duration of the inverter in case of prolonged cut, I was able to connect my Freebox + the Freebox Player + the wireless phone + a laptop and I was able to check the autonomy for all these devices connected at the same time and 1 hour 15!
The aim was to connect a Synology NAS and a Voo modem/router, all in a garage.
I hesitated a lot (with APC, with off-line model, ...). I chose a "Line Interactive" model to reduce the switching time and stabilize the current.
1st interesting point, it can be mounted flat. It is therefore lying under the NAS, minimum space. The display is great for those who like to 'know' (power consumption, autonomy, input and output current, ...). Modem/Router + Syno with HD active, that's 40w. Battery autonomy: 60m.
Small remark: this is a 'fixed area' display (not a dot matrix), so the display does not rotate if the UPS is lying down.
No noise in mains mode (at least less than the NAS fans with HD turned off, and for those who know Syno, it doesn't make much noise).
In battery mode, yes there is the fan and the beeps, but hey: the point is not to live like that either, it's just an abnormal and temporary situation.
The connection with the Syno works perfectly: recognized right away, status displayed in the Control Panel (including battery charge, autonomy, ...) and email sent in case of disconnection and return (via the Syno email notifications, which explains why I wanted to put the modem/router with it).
I tested outages, it works as expected (switching, fan, email).
I haven't tested the auto-shutdown yet, but I'm not afraid.
This inverter completely meets my expectations:
- No noise when it is plugged in. A fan is triggered when you switch to wave mode (rather reassuring).
- Ultra thin (8cm against 10cm for the equivalent from APC)
- The screen is a big plus because it allows you to know in real time the consumption of the connected devices
- A lot of juice (I plug in everything on the 850: an iMac, a NAS, external disks etc...) and it remains full of power.
