For the configuration, I had to download the different configuration barcodes from the manufacturer's website (using an unusual protocol) but afterwards it was fine!

Very good material. The top end is sheathed, which absorbs shocks and limits the risk of the player slipping due to the weight of the cable.
The sheet supplied with my 2015 order only shows a small part of the available configurations and there is no incentive to find the full guide. No doubt due to the importer Textorm only translating part of it. So we spend time trying to make it work without knowing that the possibilities are necessarily limited if the documentation for French customers is too. Besides, the sheet is wrong because the USB is already activated contrary to what is written.
The manual listing all the codes to activate the configurations is called ProgrammingGuide_CcdLaser.pdf (65 pages).
On Linux Kubuntu in English, the reader needs the additional code KL04 "Keyboard language support-French" from the Programming Guide. LB04 is also interesting to suppress the useless beep at startup.
Works very well under MSwindows10 64bits, just don't forget to use the "Programming guide pdf" to configure the hand shower in FR language.
Click on the "Start of Configuration" code, then on the "Keyboard language support - french" code and finally on the "End Of Configuration" code.
After that, it works by itself!
I have been installing barcode scanning systems in industry for 20 years. These scanners are very good for office use and last for several years. On the other hand, in a production workshop, I have never yet seen one last more than a year (6 to 8 months on average in my experience). For harsh environments, choose more resistant models, they cost 5 to 6 times more but last 10 times longer.
Good quality first price product but does not scan the brackets for example but the numbers inside when I would like the opposite...

Immediately recognized under windows 7 SP1 Pro for a faithful hairdressing software, supplied and succinct French manual with configuration barcode.
Lightweight, the stand does not move too much but the volume of the "beep" sound remains low despite a mentioned setting.
