The Dark Rock Pro 6 offers two operating modes: a semi-passive mode for absolute silence (the fan stops below 40% PWM) and a performance mode for active cooling. Thanks to its integrated switch, the user can easily toggle between these two modes depending on their needs. This system ensures efficient cooling, whether for intensive use or for total discretion.
With 7 high-performance copper heat pipes and an optimized heatsink, the Dark Rock Pro 6 ensures remarkable heat dissipation. The Silent Wings PWM fans (135 mm and 120 mm) are designed to maximize airflow while minimizing noise. Their fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) and 6-pole motor provide optimal durability and efficiency, even in the most demanding configurations.
The Dark Rock Pro 6 combines aesthetics and functionality. Its iconic design, with side covers and a top cover, conceals the heat pipes for a clean look. Its simplified mounting system, including a pre-installed mounting bracket and adjustable rails, makes installation easier. In addition, its nickel-plated base makes it compatible with liquid metal thermal pastes, such as DC2 Pro, for increased thermal efficiency.

It’s big! You need a large tower to install it. It’s easy to install, and the cooling is very effective. However, I recommend buying some good thermal paste as well to replace the original one.
Even at full power, it is quiet.

I must say that it had been a long time since I had bought a processor cooler.
It has been almost 15 years that I have been using AIOs. But mine died.
I didn’t want to spend too much again. But I still went for the top of the range in CPU coolers with this Dark Rock.
I am delighted with the thermal performance it provides. My 13700k is perfectly cooled.
40 in idle and 65 degrees in game on Battlefield which is very demanding on the CPU.
It even does better than my AIO. And yet we are in the middle of July.
Installation is very simple. And the fans are inaudible.
I do not regret it!
I needed to change my CPU cooler because my old one was too noisy. While looking for an alternative, I chose the Dark Rock PRO 6: I already knew the quality of BE QUIET! from having had a Dark Rock 3 in the past.
For office work, it is complete silence. In gaming, it all depends on the ambient temperature and the title: some run as quietly as an office session, others make the fans spin up slightly, but without excess.
The only times when the CPU cooler really made itself heard were during the current heatwave (at the time of writing, it is June 24, 2026). I am in the attic, the room is at 32 °C. In these conditions, the computer inevitably heats up...
Outside extreme conditions, it is an excellent cooling system: efficient, quiet, and the CPU remains well cooled. I recommend it without hesitation.
