For optimal charging, Apple recommends pairing this Mac with the 30W USB-C Power Adapter or 70W USB-C Power Adapter to take advantage of fast charging (up to 50% charge in 30 minutes).

2 Testing conducted by Apple in January 2026 using preproduction 13-inch MacBook Air systems with Apple M5 chip with 10-core CPU and 8-core GPU, and preproduction 15-inch MacBook Air systems with Apple M5 chip with 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, all configured with 16GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD. Wireless web browsing battery life measured by visiting 25 popular websites using Wi-Fi. Video streaming battery life measured by playing 1080p content in Safari using Wi-Fi. All devices were tested with the display brightness set to 8 clicks from the lowest level and the keyboard backlight turned off. Battery life varies depending on configuration and usage. 3 Screen size is measured diagonally. The 13-inch MacBook Air screen has rounded corners at the top. When measured as a rectangle, the screen is 13.6 inches diagonally (actual viewable area is less).
