Information provided by our tech department This high-TDP processor requires a high-performance cooling system capable of dissipating at least 150W (sold separately). The use of a liquid cooling system (All-In-One watercooling type) is recommended. Your motherboard's BIOS may need to be updated to support this processor, so check with the motherboard manufacturer's website before attempting to install it.

Very powerful CPU, with reasonable heating levels

I went from a Ryzen 9 3600 to a Ryzen 9 9900, so the change was pretty intense!
As a photographer, I was very frustrated by the poor use of Lightroom's multi-threaded capabilities, which meant that it struggled miserably.
With this new CPU, the problem is clearly solved. I'm aware that I'm compensating with hardware for the weaknesses in Adobe's code, but at least it's better.

I haven't changed my ventilation system with this new CPU, I've kept the fractal design Celsius S24 watercooling system which does the job very well.
On the other hand, the CPU heats up a bit more than its predecessor and I've had to lower the fan activation threshold so that it doesn't make my ears tired for no reason.

    A monster of power

Everything runs perfectly, nothing to complain about. Just make sure it's properly cooled to get the most power out of it.

    From Intel to AMD

Up until then, I only used Intel. Now, I really don't think you need Intel to have an efficient processor. Whether it's for running AI models or for gaming, it's efficient and doesn't get too hot.
