After a few weeks with the Ryzen 9 9800X3D, I’m absolutely won over. This processor is simply mind-blowing: exemplary smoothness across all my games, zero stuttering, and 4K@165Hz performance that fully takes advantage of my LG OLED G5 with my RTX 5070 thanks to DLSS 4. The image is incredibly sharp and fluid; games run like butter whether on demanding titles or intense multiplayer sessions.
The 3D V-Cache technology really makes a difference—you feel it immediately. No excessive heat, no compromises. It’s clearly the best gaming investment I’ve made in a long time.
If you have a high-end display and you want to get the most out of it, the 9800X3D is the answer. I recommend it 1000%
The only downside I could mention is that it runs a bit warm even in idle, but with a bit of Watercooling everything is fine.
I got it for gaming, I think it will be quite some time before I reach this one's limits.
It has everything going for it, power and low heat, one of the best on the market if not the best for gaming, there is better but for games it would be overkill (at the time I got it anyway).
The performance is there. Having been on an i5 12600K just before, I admit I was afraid of the temperature it reaches in-game. But apparently that's normal. I'm satisfied.
A processor that does what it's supposed to do. It's top of the range... So is the price...
I chose the 9800x3d so I could keep it longer than if I had chosen the 7800x3d (because for now, in terms of performance, they do the same job).
