Simply excellent for am4 gaming.
On the other hand, it does get a little hot, but that's the price of performance.
I switched from a Ryzen 5 3600 to this one and the difference is obvious. With a 3060, on Valor I went from 300-400 fps max to 800-1000 fps max with graphics at their lowest and on Red Dead Redemption 2 with pretty good graphics I went from 70 fps on average to 100 or even 110 fps.
To conclude, if you have a good ventirad, at least a 3060 and 16GB of ram, you won't be able to do any better at AMD.
Top-of-the-range processor. Very powerful. Doesn't heat up much with a good ventirad. Multifunctional. I recommend
The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is a real powerhouse! Its exceptional performance has considerably improved my system's capabilities. Games, productivity, everything is fluid. A wise choice for those looking for a top-of-the-range computing experience.
Processor purchased to replace a first-generation Ryzen 7. This Ryzen 7 5800X is at least 70% more powerful in benchmarking tests. That makes a big difference when you're often compiling C++ programs. Set to 105 watts (the default mode), it nevertheless heats up a lot (?) when you run large programs for a long time. The processor is much quieter in ECO mode (65W). The motherboard I have (a Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2) allows you to put it in this mode by selecting a simple parameter in the BIOS. It then hardly heats up at all, while losing very little power (just a few percent in benchmarks). I'm extremely satisfied with it and I'd highly recommend it for an upgrade to an AM4 platform.
