The SanDisk Professional G-Drive external hard drive is equipped with a USB-C 3.1 (10 Gbit/s) interface and offers high-capacity storage in an attractive anodised aluminium case. It features an Ultrastar 7200 RPM hard drive, with top performance of up to 280 MB/s read and write(depending on the model). It'll excel at backing up and providing fast access to your HD videos, photos, music or any other important content.
Its stackable, anodised aluminium enclosure provides excellent durability and anchor points for mounting on a digital imaging cart, mounting plate or other hardware to suit your production needs. The G-Drive desktop hard drive also gives you the option of customising the brightness of the LEDs with a choice of three modes. It's ready to use on Mac and easy to reformat for Windows.

Transparent installation on Mac osx.
Simple reformatting with encryption activated via osx disk utility.
Works silently, no read/write speed issues.
Shame the box doesn't support chaining of multiple devices.
Trouble-free installation on Mac osx, directly operational as a Time Machine disk
Quiet and fast for this application.
The drive goes to sleep every 5 minutes (and it's impossible to set this via the PC's perif config panel). When it restarts, it takes 1 minute during which the whole PC freezes (music, video or game). There's absolutely nothing you can do. And if you're unlucky, the file you were using gets damaged or corrupted.
What's more, with all these standby and restart times, the drive has just given out on me (29/04/25), i.e. 15 weeks of use! As for the transfer speed... I'd rather not say anything....
Expensive for the end result. So Sandisk -> forget it. No problem with my old Seagate, I'm sorry I wanted to change.
Great product found at LDLC and nowhere else I recommend this site delivery on time. A quality product for a large capacity and a respectable price.
I can't recommend this G-Drive 22TB drive highly enough! It meets my expectations and the transfer speed is more than satisfactory.
