TheICY DOCK ToughArmor MB834MK-B V2 is a robust 2-bay removable rack for NVMe M.2 SSDs that fits into a single 3.5" external drive bay. It supports 64Gb/s PCIe 4.0 data transfer rates via the SlimSAS 4i interface (SFF-8654) and accepts all standard M.2 SSD lengths from 30mm to 110mm (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, 22110).
The ToughArmor MB834MK-B V2 rack simplifies the process of installing or removing the M.2 NVMe SSD by using removable drive trays with tool-less adjustable M.2 drive hooks, making it easy to change drives at any time without having to open the computer case or deal with drive mounting screws. For efficient heat dissipation, each platter is fitted with a high-efficiency aluminium heat sink.

The conventional approach to installing an M.2 format SSD is to mount it on a motherboard using a small screw, which can become a tedious and time-consuming task. Physically removing or installing the drive can be quite difficult. The ThoughArmor MB834MK-B V2 rack brings M.2 drives to the front of your computer case, simplifying the process of installing and removing M.2 NVMe SSDs.Typically, NVMe PCIe M.2 SSDs are inserted at a 45-degree angle and secured to the motherboard with screws. However, with the ThoughArmor MB834MK-B V2, this process is made much simpler. Users can effortlessly place the M.2 SSD into the drive tray, adjust the drive latch to fit the specific M.2 drive type, then push down to lock it securely. This simplified procedure takes less than 5 seconds, eliminating the need for small screws that are easy to lose.
Reliability and optimum cooling
Earthing your M.2 SSD is crucial. Without proper earthing, when swapping drives there is a high possibility of static shocks, which can damage the data on the drive. This innovative EMI grounding technology ensures that once the drive is clipped into the M.2's adjustable latch, it remains grounded through the platter, enclosure and computer system, protecting your drives from static electrical surges when swapping. As M.2 NVMe SSDs are known to generate high temperatures, it is essential to maintain operating temperatures to avoid performance degradation. Each platter is equipped with an extra-large, high-performance aluminium heatsink cover and thermal pad. Heat is dispersed efficiently through strategically placed ventilation holes on all sides, working in conjunction with your computer's cooling system.
