The principle behind this type of product is that it should lie perfectly flat when you place it on your desk, if you want to do away with mouse mats, and that it should look good. I doubt that the fact that it warps along its length is the desired effect; even my grandmother's doily looks better! In my opinion, it's a design flaw, which is a shame.
The LEDs provide good lighting, but the gliding sensation isn't great. I wouldn't recommend it for competitive gaming, but other than that, it's nice.
