Overview

Business Access Point to take advantage of next-generation Wi-Fi 6

The Nuclias Connect AX1800 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 PoE Access Point (DAP-X2810) from D-Link is a highly cost-effective solution for businesses looking to upgrade to next-generation Wi-Fi 6. Combining high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi with dual-band technology and Gigabit Ethernet, it provides ultra-fast access to bandwidth-hungry applications such as data, voice and video streaming, even in highly congested environments. The DAP-X2810 access point offers combined dual-band data rates of 1800 Mbit/s (1200 Mbit/s over 5 GHz and 575 Mbit/s over 2.4 GHz) wirelessly. OFDMA and MU-MIMO increase channel capacity and efficiency, enabling more customers to access the network.

AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Access Point

  • Easy to manage with D-Link's free centralised management software solution, Nuclias Connect

  • Higher throughput with dual-band Wi-Fi for faster transfer speeds
  • Coverage is shared more efficiently across a greater number of users with equal network uptime
  • Band steering intelligently manages users, directing them to the highest radio frequency where possible
  • Gigabit LAN port provides a high-speed connection to your wired network, eliminating bottlenecks at the access point
  • Support for 802.3at Power over Ethernet reduces the number of cables, making deployment cleaner and easier. Mains power available(adapter not included).
  • Enhance your security with the latest WPA3 Personal & Enterprise wireless encryption
  • Supports multiple AP modes to optimise performance according to your network needs

    several limitations

Unfortunately it's impossible to use accented characters in the SSID name, so I can't add this AP to an existing network. And D-Link support are aware of this but don't consider it a problem.

And the nuclias suite for managing a fleet of APs has only rudimentary Linux support (container images that haven't been updated for years, no support for ARM architectures, which makes it impossible to install on a raspberry-type board).
